AUDITOIRE: a Journal on Philippines Cinema
[New Avant-Garde Movement Project]
AUDITOIRE is a eclectic, pluralist, pro-Marxist film blog about world cinema chronicling both canonical and non-canonical films. It is based in the Philippines. It started as a one-man blog with no direction founded last February 23, 2008. It was initially owned by an eccentric Filipino cinephile named Adrian Mendizabal for three and a half years, and was later co-authored by Filipino-Canadian cinephile Chris Eriz Sta. Maria last July 25, 2011. It gained a following from various cinephiles around the world especially from parts of North America and Europe.
About the ADVOCACY
AUDITOIRE’s current advocacy is to champion new canons of cinema. It aims to focus on uncelebrated films and filmmakers both local in the Philippines and abroad. It also aims to provide carefully drawn reviews and reflections about cinema’s rich aesthetic history of styles and narratives. In addition, it aims to draw up new relationships on how ideologies, politics, and technology help in piecing together films. With the proliferation of the internet as the new distribution tool for starting filmmakers, AUDITOIRE champions the works of the “new avant-garde movement”, a movement centered on the web by digital filmmaker.

MINDSCAPES IS A FILM ART EVENT THAT STRIVES TO BRING TOGETHER EMERGING AND ESTABLISHED ARTISTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO SHARE THEIR ART & PHILOSOPHY IN AN ART HOUSE SETTING.
VIDEO ARTISTS GINNETTA CORRELI AND CASSANDRA SECHLER CREATED MINDSCAPES IN ORDER TO BRING TOGETHER ARTISTS IN AN ONLINE COMMUNITY AND TO CREATE A NICHE FOR DARK, PERSONAL FILMS THAT ARE OFTEN IGNORED BY THE COMMERCIAL WORLD.
“I feel that these films represent a much larger critical movement that is happening under the skin of society and the mainstream art world”.
These films demand attention, and we hope to have audience members walking away provoked, saddened, concerned, and perhaps somewhat disturbed by what they have seen at the show.
In light of Valentine’s Day, I bring you darkness!”

PRESS RELEASE: http://www.atasite.org/2012/02/mindscapes/
Kassandre brings together filmmakers who have chosen to share freely one or more of their films using free licenses.
You are free to download, copy, share and in some cases you are also free to modify, to create derivative works.
We have three good reasons to do this:
- Download is not theft, and copying is not harmful and modify isn’t destroy. It’s good for movies to be seen, and therefore be copied. This allows authors to find an audience and the latter to meet authors.
- Sharing is Loving. And sharing is a fundamental freedom that must be protected.
- Sharing enriches the giver and the receiver. The filmmaker and the audience enjoying a shared happiness.
The cinema has every reason to celebrate this new wind, the great opportunities it brings and the endless possibilities that are offered.
We have created the platform Kassandre.org to allow filmmakers and the public to come together around the films. We accept all genres (drama, comedy, thriller, etc.) and all formats (fiction, documentary, art film, etc. …), but we strive to select the most original films, those who try to say a little more …
“La vie manifeste”
La vie manifeste, tentative de la meute, du bloc, de l’invention, de l’expérience de la pensée. Un espace multiple dans lequel se mêle sons, textes, images, vidéos. Cette ouverture est aussi la possibilité de fabriquer un espace à plusieurs, de se lier, se délier et relier de multiples propositions. Un souhait aussi, être seul à plusieurs.
Website: http://laviemanifeste.com/
Chaque mois, “la vie manifeste” nous propose une vidéo, un court-métrage pour prendre la mesure de la création contemporaine.
« Unconcerned but not Indifferent »
